Welcome to the Southeast Alaska's Jewish Center, Congregation Sukkat Shalom

Website Updated: 12/19/2011

Our name in Hebrew means shelter of peace.  The Sukkah is the booth we build in the Fall which in Jewish tradition serves as a symbol of for welcoming of guests and peace.  This is central to who we are as a hospitable congregation whose members respect the great variety of religious communities and cultures in Southeast Alaska.  We welcome everyone who wishes to worship, learn, or celebrate with us. We hold Shabbat services at least once a month, offer classes, and special programs.  We also will be offering regular opportunities to study Torah for those interested in growing Jewishly or considering becoming Jews by Choice.   We have a growing religious school for children from kindergarten through Bar/Bat Mitzvah age.   If you live in the Juneau area, consider supporting the community through membership.  Please visit us and contact us for any questions.  Call our number at 907 463-4333 for any questions or send an email to us at Rabbi Gartenberg's contact: panimhadashot@gmail.com
